7 November 2021 - A relaxing Sunday brunch at Bungalow 37 with two distinguished Regional CMI Board members (Malaysia) Dr Seng Poh Chew and Steven Foong. Naturally, the discourse centered on the general topic of leadership and management set in the milieu of the complexity of contributing factors such as differing values, culture, perception and expectations. No easy solutions except clear communication of issues raised among stakeholders from the start. Thank you very much to both for your kind invitation.
14 November 2021 - A very educational afternoon with Raja Shahrul Azrain from Hong Leong Asset Management Bhd on pathways for a sustainable partnership with #YayasanCemerlang I loved his bold and innovative ideas for a model that can surely fill in the gaps and connect the dots to ensure a steady stream of available funding for many of our fellow Malaysians from underserved areas to pursue higher education.
31 October 2021 - Kirenjit Kaur was among the first batch of Yayasan Cemerlang Scholars back in 2012. I remember all of them with fondness and still take pride in their achievements since their graduation in 2016/2017. Kirenjit is now an accountant and is blessed with 2 lovely kids, and a supportive spouse of course. I have come to know recently that Kirenjit is also quite the entrepreneur having started up a side gig of supplying sumptuous cakes and cookies upon request. ️
29 June 2021 - If you are a Malaysian above 18 years old and you thrive in a domain of peer-to-peer learning, self-learning and self-actualization in a challenging 100% hands on project environment, do check out 42KL, Malaysia’s first coding school that offers zero tuition fees, zero teachers, and zero traditional classrooms. Yup, you read right. Zero tuition fees, zero teachers and zero traditional classrooms. All you need is determination, will-power, resilience, and the resolve to be the best you can be in whatever situation you find yourself in and face with courage and passion any challenge thrown at you. I found out about 42KL only recently from Hester Spiegel-vdSteenhoven and through her kind introduction, had a very interesting subsequent conversation with the Head of 42KL, Jeff Sandhu, Thila, and Tzer Yee Ng on the game-changer in education that has been in our midst. Do check out 42KL if the path they offer interests you. It could be the road you never thought of taking but a destination that could make much difference in your chosen future.
APRIL 2021 - A very useful discussion on possible student enrichment activities online with secondary school students during this morning's catch-up session with the office-bearers for the Yayasan Cemerlang Alumni Corps, President Fatin Syaheera , VP, Nor Rashid Mohamad and Treasurer Azmunira Ali Badri. The pandemic has indeed called for Alumni, Student and industry relations to be normalised in achieving similar outcomes and more, in a hybrid space and face to face only when deemed safe to do so. The future is Now, and it's Business as Usual.
A very fruitful morning with Yayasan Cemerlang Trustee Datuk Seri Dr. Md Zabid Abdul Rashid recently on Yayasan matters.
We thank you, Datuk Seri Dr. Md Zabid Abdul Rashid, for your guidance and valuable insights on few documents for Yayasan.
