Yayasan Cemerlang visits the Methodist Girls’ School Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR, March 22, 2013 – YBhg. Prof. Datuk Dr. Md Zabid Abdul Rashid, a member of Yayasan Cemerlang’s (YC) Board of Trustees, participated in YC’s school project at Methodist Girls’ School Kuala Lumpur (MGS KL), recently.

During the two hours spent at the school, YBhg. Prof. Datuk Dr. Md Zabid gave valuable advice to the students for their future career goals. He also took the opportunity to highlight UNIRAZAK’s specialized degree programmes in the area of Accounting, Taxation, and Insurance, all of which coincided with the Government’s Economic Transformation Plan (ETP) allowing graduates access to such professional bodies such as CPA Australia, Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM), and Chartered Insurance Institute of UK (CII). Such associations, said Prof. Datuk Dr. Md Zabid, can enable graduates to attain higher income positions than their fellow graduates post-university. He concluded his discussion with the words “education representing their investment for the future” and “sacrifice today, for a better tomorrow.”

Accompanying Prof Datuk Dr Md Zabid to MGS KL were Mohammad Azrin Dzulkifli, UNIRAZAK Marketing Unit; Abdul Raof Salhudin and Mohd Aizat Mohd Mokhtar from YC; and two YC scholars;  Vincent Chong and Kirenjit Kaur, both of whom are currently pursuing accounting degrees with CPA Australia at UNIRAZAK.

The visit was attended by 75 students from the school, of which 67 are currently in Form 5 whereas 13 students were SPM 2012 leavers.

A note of appreciation has been extended to Dr. Lee King Siong, an MGS KL alumnus, for coordinating this project for Yayasan Cemerlang.
