CEO Hong Leong Islamic Bank Talks to Yayasan Cemerlang Scholars

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 20, 2013 –Yayasan Cemerlang invited the Managing Director/CEO of Hong Leong Islamic Bank, YM Raja Teh Maimunah Raja Abdul Aziz to speak to our students on the challenging but highly rewarding life in the banking world. The talk was attended by 23 Yayasan Cemerlang scholars currently pursuing studies at Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK). The talk was also attended by other UNIRAZAK undergraduates presently pursuing Islamic Banking and Islamic Financial Planning studies.

       

                                                           

With two decades of experience in investment and Islamic banking, Raja Teh Maimunah enthralled the students with her personal experiences and also gave wise encouragement to the aspiring future bankers and financial specialists. One of the notable tips she gave was to have 3 robust qualities to survive in the banking world, namely - 'endurance, persistence and perseverance'.

The one hour session was also attended by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of UNIRAZAK - Prof Geoffrey Williams; Dean of Bank Rakyat School of Business & Entrepreneurship - Prof Garry Clayton; and Dr Hafriza Burhanudeen, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Cemerlang, which organized this talk under the auspices of the Tun Rahah Academia-Industry Seminar Series.
