Pandelela also received a scholarship from Yayasan Cemerlang to pursue a degree of her choice at Universiti Tun Abdul Razak.

Datuk Seri Najib assured that the government was prepared to provide any assistance the young athlete may need to enhance her performance for further international success.

The 19-year-old Sarawakian lass created history, by being the first Malaysian woman athlete, to win an Olympic medal by bringing home a bronze in the women's 10-metre platform in London recently.
